Hi everyone! I'm a little bit late with my project for the new Runway Inspired Challenge, but better late than never I suppose :) Here's this week's look to inspire you:

So colourful and funky! And here’s what I came up with:

I’ve created my own wrapping paper with watercolours and then cut the bows using Lil Inker's Bow die and a washi tape.

I hope you're inspired to play along! Make sure to visit the Runway Inspired Challenge blog for all the details on how to play along and to see what prize is up for grabs!

Studio Calico April Reveal

Hi everyone! It's that day again already! It's reveal time at Studio Calico! All new kits and add-ons were already available during an exclusive pre-sale for subscribers only and they are now available to everyone for purchase in the Studio Calico store! Be aware that they often sell out quickly, so get yours today to avoid disappointment!

And this month's kits are just gorgeous! They all are full of vibrant colours and fun embellishments. Today, I’m sharing a few cards I made using the Bluegrass Farm main card kit and add-ons.

I love the patterned papers from this month’s main card kit. I used one of them for my first card, I also added a sentiment from the stamp set that comes with the kit and an origami butterfly folded from kraft paper:

you are so awesome

For the second card I used my personal favourite from the main kit, sequin dies. I can't tell you how awesome they are! I had so much fun playing with them! The tiny confetti dots are actually leftovers from the die cuts:

thank you so much

The next card is made with the Clarabelle add on kit. I used here a cute script sentiment and a wonky heart stamp, both from the stamp set that comes with the kit. I inked up the hearts with two different colours to achieve a two-toned look. I also added a piece of patterned paper and yellow enamel dots to finish it off:

thinking of you

My last card is created with the Buttercup add-on stamp set that comes with coordinating frame dies. The tiny triangle confetti is made with the Triangle Background die. To create my background I used a watercolour technique with ink pad and water brush:

kisses

Runway Inspired Challenge #56

Hi everyone! Can you believe it's time for the new Runway Inspired Challenge?! This week we have a bold and colourful inspiration look for you:

source: style.com

And here’s my card:

wycinanki

I wanted to try and create something to mimic this symmetric pattern with geometric shapes from the skirt and I just realised that it reminds me of Polish folk art called “wycinanki”. A few years ago I created THIS CARD from the scratch and it was a really hard and time consuming, so this time I decided to be cheeky and I've used free patterns I found on the web (I have to say I did let out a little squeal when I saw them! *wink*)

I hope you're inspired to play along! Make sure to visit the Runway Inspired Challenge blog for all the details on how to enter and what you can win!

Runway Inspired Challenge #55

Hi everyone! I can't believe how time is flying by! It’s Tuesday and this means it's time for the new Runway Inspired Challenge! This week we have a beautiful and elegant inspiration piece from Pamella Roland's Pre-Fall 2014 collection:

source: style.com

And here’s what I came up with:

best wishes

As a focal accent I used here a floral ornament from Adobe Wood Type 2 font printed in black. To add some shimmer to my card I cut leaves from silver glitter paper

Make sure to visit the Runway Inspired Challenge blog for all the details on how to play along and to see what prize is up for grabs!

Studio Calico March Reveal

Hi everyone! It's reveal day at Studio Calico which means an exclusive pre-sale for subscribers only has already happened and the OFFICE HOURS kits and add-ons are now available to everyone for purchase in the Studio Calico store!

All the kits are just full of colours and patterns and I’m sure you’re going to love them! Today, I’m sharing a few cards I made using the Office Hours main card kit and the Water Cooler card kit add-on.

For the first main kit only card I used two beautiful patterned papers to cut triangles and create my background:

thanks

For the second card I used my personal favourite from the kit, veneer embellishments that coordinate with the stamp set (how cool is that?!):

sorry

The next two cards are made with the Water Cooler add-on. The first one is quick and simple. I used a small dot stamp to create my background. Then I added a strip of patterned paper along with sentiment stamp and small rhinestone stars:

thank you

For the second card I created my polka dot background by stamping the solid circle stamp with mint ink. I stamped the sentiment, then added a piece of lovely pink linen ribbon and gold glitter to finish it off:

thinking of you
