Runway Inspired Challenge #68

Hi there! It’s time for the new Runway Inspired Challenge! Here's this week's look to inspire you:

source: shoes.stylosophy.it

Diamond shapes were the first thing that caught my eye in today's inspiration piece. I cut out one diamond shape to create a stencil. Then I simply laid it onto my card base and sponged with a pearlescent beige ink to create this patterned background:

thanks friend thanks friend

I finished off my card by adding a label tape sentiment and a “friend” die cut from Studio Calico.

I hope you're inspired to play along with us! Make sure to visit the Runway Inspired Challenge blog for all the details on how to enter and what you can win! If you're looking for more inspiration then please check out what the rest of the team came up with for this challenge:

Getting To Know Me

Hi everyone and happy Monday! I’m popping in with a different kind of post today. I’m honoured to be nominated by a fabulous artist and one of my favourite crafty friends, Jennifer Rzasa to participate in some fun “Getting To Know Me” Blog Hop. Thanks Jen for thinking of me! I love everything you create (and you can't imagine how thrilled I was when you asked me to join the RIC DT! You won't get rid of me so easily now! Lol!). You can see her blog hop post HERE.

So, as part of this hop, I'm going to answer several questions about myself:

1. What creative projects are you currently working on?

I have some cards for my DTs to work on. My Studio Calico kit is on it's way so I can't wait to dig in to it and play (hopefully this week!). And here’s a little sneak peek of my card for tomorrow's Runway Inspired Challenge:

thanks friend

I have also already been brainstorming about Christmas decors and gift ideas (but do not think I'm that organised! I always have plenty ideas and NEVER enough time to actually execute them! *sigh*)

2.What inspires your designs?

I love Pinterest. Where better place to find an inspiration is than Pinterest? When my mojo goes AWOL and I feel stuck, I browse through my inspiration folder to see if something sparks an idea. This place always gives me a jump start:

3. What method / process (if applicable) do you apply to each of your creative projects, and how long does each project take to complete?

I don't think I have any method. And there are not many cards that I created in less than one hour. I usually just go with the flow until I’m happy with the outcome and I am always trying to stick to ‘less is more’ rule. Theoretically this should speed up the process but sometimes it is quite the opposite!

4. If you had to describe your 'signature' style, what would it be?

I think I would describe it as eclectic! *wink* I love clean and simple with touch of ink/paint splatters and messy thread tangles:

thanks

5. What three crafting tools/products can you not live without?

I tend to be pretty minimalistic when it comes to tools. One of my favourite products is my embossing label maker!

Now it’s my turn to nominate some friends to play along! For me, that's the hardest part of this hop as there are so many awesome and talented cardmakers I just love!

Both ladies are super inspirational, I adore their work and I’m proud to be a part of the Studio Calico Design Team with them:

Dana Fleckenstein – I am in love with every card she creates. Dana, if you ever need someone to send a card to, just let me know! lol!

Julie Campbell – I love her clever use of supplies and attention to details! Her cards always inspire me to take a different approach to the stamps!

Be sure to check out their posts next Monday (September 22nd)!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Runway Inspired Challenge #67

Hi there! It’s time for the next Runway Inspired Challenge! Here's this week's look to inspire you:

source: style.com

And here’s what I came up with:

hello

I was mainly inspired by the geometric background and the floral accents. I used here the triangle background die and the hello sentiment that is simply cut out of a washi taped background.

I hope you're inspired to play along with us! Make sure to visit the Runway Inspired Challenge blog for all the details on how to enter and what you can win! If you're looking for more inspiration then please check out what the rest of the team came up with for this challenge:

Studio Calico September Reveal

For the CASE Study blog hop, please scroll down or click HERE
and for the Jane’s Doodles Spotlight blog hop, scroll down or click HERE

Hi everyone! Yesterday, Studio Calico revealed their September kits. They all were already available during an exclusive pre-sale for subscribers only and they are now available to everyone for purchase in the Studio Calico store! Be aware that they often sell out quickly, so get yours today to avoid disappointment!

Today, I’m sharing a few cards I made using the Poet Society main card kit and stamp add-ons.

Using a diamond stamp from the stamp set that comes with the kit, I created this clean and simple congratulations card:

congratulations

For my second card I used a big sentiment stamp that I inked up with a few different colours (SC Color Theory: Well Red, Orange County, Coral Bay) to achieve this look:

hooray

The next card is created with the Jar Stamp Set, another stunning set designed by 1canoe2 for Studio Calico! Lots of stars to create my background along with some scraps of paper from the main card kit:

hello

My last card is made with the Circles Stamp Set by Splendid Fiins for Studio Calico. I used here a solid circle stamp to create a fun pattern then added some embellishments from the main card kit to finish it off:

hello

I had so much fun playing with this month's kit and I hope you feel inspired to check out these new products! You can also pop over to the Studio Calico gallery for more inspiration and ideas from the Creative Team!

Thanks for stopping by today!

CASE Study 4th Anniversary Blog Hop

Hi everyone! I’m honoured to be participating in the celebrations for CASE Study's 4th Anniversary! You should have arrived here from Silke's blog, if not here's the full list of participants for this week and you can start at the top of the hop:

The theme of the Blog Hop is the Inspiration and I decided to create something inspired by one of my favourite paper artist ever: Kim Stewart. This is the inspiration piece I used for my card:

source: happylikeyellow.typepad.com

I wish I had doodling skills like Kim! For my card I used flower stamp from Jane’s Doodles to mimic the background she has created:

hello hello

I also used the Hello die from Studio Calico and added some glitter for extra sparkle.

Make sure to leave a comment at each stop and link up at CASE Study blog for your chance to win some fantastic prizes from our sponsors including Clearly Besotted Stamps, Verve, Ellen Hutson and Waltzingmouse Stamps! You have until midnight on the following Tuesday (11.59 pm) to enter. There's also a challenge opened for the same length of time to CASE any of the projects featured in the blog hop.

That's all for me, your next stop on the hop is Iwona's blog!

Congrats on 4 wonderful years, CASE Study!
